DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Saint Brendan High School, a Catholic, secondary school has an opening for Development Director. This person is responsible for annual fund, major gift cultivation and solicitation, major donor research, grant researches and solicitation, all phases of capital campaigns and relations with community leaders. The Development Director works with the Marketing Director to plan events and communicate with internal and external stakeholders. The Development Director performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
• Good Spanish-language spoken communication skills strongly preferred.
• Good modern office procedures and practices, including record keeping and data security methods and techniques.
• Must be goal-oriented, have a strong work ethic, high energy, focused, and demonstrated experience of successful major gift fundraising.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software.
• Knowledge of principles and practices on not-for profit accounting a plus.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
• Principles and practices of supervision and personnel management.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, are required.
• Good computer literacy, including ability to navigate online applications and search engines effectively.
• Good spelling and grammar required.
• Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
• Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time.
• Must be able to multi-task and retain accuracy in an environment of competing deadlines.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be supportive of the mission, vision, values and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church and have knowledge of its structures, functions and institutions.

HEAD VARSITY BOYS LACROSSE COACH

St. Brendan Catholic High School, a private catholic school located in Miami, FL, is currently looking for a head varsity Boys Lacrosse coach / Lacrosse program head to begin work in the spring 2017 season. In-season work consists mostly of afternoon and evening practices and competitions. Occasional weekend work is also required. Out of season responsibilities are more limited in terms of time commitment generally more flexible in terms of schedule. Formal practices for the spring 2017 season will begin on Monday, January 16th. Work required to prepare for the season will begin at a mutually agreeable date later this summer.

Essential Functions
The head varsity boys lacrosse coach / Lacrosse program head will join an athletics program that includes 26 varsity sports, most of which have both junior varsity and varsity teams. The Lacrosse program includes two teams—varsity, and junior varsity. The head varsity boys lacrosse coach / Lacrosse program is directly responsible for coaching the varsity team as well as for the oversight and coordination of the entire program. Specific responsibilities include:

• Supervision and instruction of varsity lacrosse student-athletes during all team activities
• Development of a long-term lacrosse program vision, plan, and teaching curriculum
• Ongoing management, and evaluation of lacrosse program coaching staff • Development and oversight of lacrosse program budget
• Development of lacrosse practice and competition schedules, including summer activities
• Maintenance and upkeep of lacrosse program equipment and apparel
• Regular communication with team parents / athletics program staff regarding program activities
• Attendance at required lacrosse program, athletics program, and school meetings
• Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes
• Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes
• Compliance with all St. Brendan Catholic High School, Greater Miami Athletic Conference, and Florida High School Athletic Association policies and procedures

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have experience coaching lacrosse at the high school, club, or collegiate level. Candidates must exhibit enthusiasm for the role of athletics in an independent school setting, vision and creativity, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Additionally, candidates must complete a criminal background check, Virtus training, and a NFHS concussion course.
